Vibration Analysis Services

We offer 3 types of Vibration Analysis / Vibration Monitoring services to complement your Condition Monitoring / Reliability programme.

  3. Training on your own VA equipment

We use the latest CSI 2130 and 2140 analysers to carry out vibration analysis. These analysers are the industry standard workhorses and allow us to collect highly defined waveform spectra and multiple trends of known bandwidths which leads us to very quick analysis of problem areas. Because of the speed of the analyser we can cover up to 80 assets* in a day as long as they are available and don’t need to be swapped over. We also don’t leave site without giving you the report and any recommended remedial actions. We believe this is important rather than giving the data to someone back in our HQ to analyse. We use our engineering experience to analyse the machines problem at the machine, where we can carry out quick visual and audible checks to help with the analysis onsite, making the outcome more reliable. When data is analysed offsite, then the job is much harder to do by anyone and more prone to misdiagnosis. We try, if possible, to arrange the corrective action whilst onsite. This could be a process alteration, flow rates, or speeds to identify the problem. We find this extra information either cures the problem or helps with the exact remedial work to efficiently solve the problem.

We can trend data from various tests to gain a more holistic view of the machine’s condition to predict when corrective maintenance needs to be performed.

What is Vibration Analysis / Vibration Monitoring?

Vibration Analysis (VA), aims are to reduce maintenance costs and equipment downtime by detecting equipment faults in there earliest detectable state.  Vibration Analysis is a key component and cornerstone of a Condition Monitoring (CM) program, and is often referred to as Predictive Maintenance (PdM). Most commonly VA is used to detect faults in rotating equipment (Fans, Motors, Pumps, and Gearboxes etc.) such as Unbalance, Misalignment, rolling element bearing faults and resonance conditions. 

VA uses a Time Waveform (TWF), but most commonly the spectrum is used, derived from a Fast Fourier Transform of the TWF. The vibration spectrum provides important frequency information that can pinpoint the faulty component.
